This Canadian fiction book is about 12 year old boy Cody who is in love with playing basketball and wanted to make basket ball team but advent of Nick makes him apprehensive all the time. Cody comprehended that in order to be successful he has to be self supporting and to work his best believing in his basketball skills.  Cody's confidence in himself was threatened by Nick firstly in acute manner and later in a more hostile manner. He perceives that in order to get successful he does not need any help. Genre of the book is basketball stories for grade level of 4-6. This book revolves around a small town basketball player short of money experiences bullying and nervousness in his performance but he comes out with his ways of finding the solution to deal with such barriers. Bad shot is good for young readers like athletes. This book is part of series named as "Lorimer Sports Stories".
